About Qigong

Qi Gong is an ancient Chinese physical exercise practice that combines the theory of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) with an aligned posture, focused movement and deep breathing. Dating from around 2-5000 years ago, Qi Gong (the modern name for Dao Yin) is a movement and exercise practice that helps to support health and wellbeing. The movements help open pathways in the body (meridians) allowing Qi to flow, balancing yin yang energy, blood and flow of fluid from within the body. The younger practice of Tai Chi is a martial form of Qi Gong.  Read over our health and wellbeing resources for Qigong.
