Chen Tai Chi is a powerful internal martial art that combines slow movements, dynamic stances with deep breathing, mind intent and martial spirit. Chen Tai Chi silk reeling is the signature body method of the style, with spirals in the limbs and torso that loosen the joints and mobilise the connective tissue. It is the foundation of the practice and is trained as a series of fixed step, side stepping, advancing drills on both sides of the body. When starting to learn Chen Tai Chi as a beginner student, the silk reeling drills help ease you into the practice, which in turn helps you develop your form choreography.
