Evening Tai Chi Classes

Join our weekly evening classes in Newport on the Isle of Wight. Learn traditional Tai Chi and Qigong movements in a friendly and welcoming community class. Discover your health potential with nourishing and strengthening movements that blend ancient wisdom with modern techniques. Become part of our community that fosters balance, strength, resilience and wellbeing, where movement meets mindfulness.

Each class is a stand alone lesson, what we call ‘casual study’. You can dip in and out of the classes as you wish or come regularly to develop and refine your movements. Instructor Nicola will guide you through a variety of loosening exercises, breath work techniques, Tai Chi and Qigong movements, stillness principles and movement body method. Helping you towards improving your quality of physical life whilst supporting your mental health. This class is open to all levels of students, all fitness levels and any age. New beginners are encouraged to join anytime.

Description

Lesson: Tai Chi & Qigong.

Content: Chen Tai Chi and Qigong movements to promote health and wellbeing. To calm the mind, strengthen the body and nourish through breath.

Day/Time: Wednesdays at 7.00pm – 8.00pm.

Upcoming Dates: 20, 27 March, 3, 10, 17, 24 April, and 1, 8, 15, 22, 29 May.

Cost: ÂŁ8 per class

Payments: On the day. Cash or contactless credit/debit card via SumUp.

Format: Drop-in, pay as you go.

Location: Newport Methodist Church Hall, Quay St, Newport, Isle of Wight, PO30 5BA.

Directions: To the right of the main church door are iron gates that will be open when you arrive. Follow the alley to the first set of double white doors. Use the side door to come into the main hall. If you reach the double doors at the end of the alley you have gone too far. See the photograph in the gallery for details.

Parking: On street short stay in Quay Street. Parking tickets via app “Pay by Phone” or via the pay and display machine, after 6pm ÂŁ2 charge for the evening. Coppins Bridge long stay is free after 6pm, short walk to the venue.
