Join our drop In Tai Chi and Qigong classes in Newport
Learn to combine graceful deliberate physical movements with a concentrated mind and deep breathing. There are many health and wellbeing benefits of Tai Chi and Qigong practice: increase flexibility / calm the mind / relax the body / improve circulation / gain new-found energy / hydrate the joints / improve posture / fall prevention / grounding and balance / body awareness / strengthen the muscles / loosen physical tension and help to improve all body systems (lymph, immune, central nervous, digestive, hormone, respiratory etc).
AUTUMN DATES 2019
Dates: From 3 September to 15 October, then ongoing after half term, dates TBA.
Time: 1.00pm – 2.00pm
Duration: One hour.
Cost: £6 for everyone.
Class Type: This is an open casual class. No need to book in advance.
Payment Method: Cash on the day. Please try to bring the correct change.
Suited to: No experience necessary, beginners welcome. Open to all abilities no matter fitness level or physical restriction.
Ages: 18 years to 90+. If you are able to stand and move for an hour, you are able to practice and benefit from Tai Chi and Qigong. Our students currently range from the age of 18 to 91. We also can accommodate chair based students as the majority of Tai Chi and Qigong movements can be adapted.

Syllabus: Chen style Tai Chi silk reeling exercises and foundation movements, 8 Pieces of Brocade Qigong, 5 Animals Qigong, Qigong for Women and more. This class is suitable for students who wish to study Tai Chi and Qigong casually on a drop-in basis. Read more about this type of class here. Please note this is not a Tai Chi form/routine class.

Location: The main church hall. Enter the church gate to the right hand side of the church front door as indicated by the red arrow in the image. Please follow the path alongside the church until you reach a white door on your left. If you reach the double doors at the end of the path, you’ve gone too far as this is the entrance to the small hall.
