In Nicola’s own words
“Tai Chi began as something I would do to help relax my mind and body to becoming an essential part of my daily life. I used to be active in sports and found Tai Chi and Chi Gung a great way to recover physically and mentally from endurance training . A number of years ago due to injury and ill-health, I could no longer continue exercising as I wished. Everything had to change. It was then that I turned to the internal arts of Tai Chi, Chi Gung and Taoist meditation as a vital part of my recovery and later on, management of my conditions. What I didn’t expect was to benefit from my changed routine so much, that I moved away completely from competitive sports and focused my training purely on the Chinese internal arts of Tai Chi and Chi Gung.
My experience of Tai Chi for health was so powerful that it led me to become an instructor. I wanted to share my experiences of these practices, how beneficial they have been for my own condition. As the wise say ‘movement is medicine’. I am a forever student, always looking to learn from others, keen to absorb and discover more about the internal arts. I love my own training and am always practicing and developing. Tai Chi and Qi Gong really are life arts, and one’s that I love.”
