Mindful Movement
Mindful Movement
Somatic Qigong is a mindful movement practice exploring embodied awareness, state shifting and reunion with your authentic self. Through slow, focused movements, breath work, and mindfulness. Unlike traditional exercises that focus purely on choreography and external movements, somatic movements and breath work creates a mindful space to come into a natural state of being.
Traditional Qigong is an anti-dote to the modern world of stories, thoughts, who, what, where why and whens. Put a gentle pause on your thinking, analytical, judgmental and anticipatory mind, and shift into a grounded, centred, compassionate, warm hearted child-like state, filled with curiosity and wonder. Qigong is like returning home.

As part of Mental Health Awareness Week in May, I am delighted to be one of the speakers at Root & Bloom. I will be sharing the mental health benefits of somatic Qigong in a free talk, demonstration and mini class.
For those wishing to explore somatic Qigong in the studio with face to face instruction, join me in Ryde for a deep dive into the mind body connection. With standing, moving, seated and floor work Qigong to nourish, soften, calm and reconnect.
Students not on the Isle of Wight can join my online course in July, a four part Qigong series that will take you through the foundations of somatic movement and breathwork. This course will become part of our school video library on Patreon once completed.
