For those new to Qigong as a movement practice, follow along with my six week Qi Gong beginners video course. The lessons take you through the learning process of traditional Qigong practice. Using the Soma Dao Qigong syllabus to develop alignment principles, applied principles, breath work, relaxation, state shifting and flow state.
No experience is needed, these classes are suitable for those with no experience. This course is the long form version, with six hours of guided tuition. The short form version "The Five Stems", is a free mini version of this course and is open to newsletter subscribers through this link.
Qi Gong Beginners Video Course Content
Lesson 1 - Mimic
- Mimic the general shape of the movements. A silent follow along practice to introduce the movements.

Lesson 2 - Structure
- Fostering a good alignment in your posture and learning the choreography. Developing body awareness and coordination.
- Duration: 1.04.53 minutes.
Lesson 3 - Method
- An introduction to turning the waist in Qigong. Learning to move from the inside out in a structured way to drive the whole body in movement.
- Duration: 59.58 minutes.
Lesson 4 - Release
- Exploring natural lengthening in movements, the art of pandiculation. Developing sense awareness as you move to avoid moving into tension and creating more tension.
- Duration: 1.21.01 minutes.
Lesson 5 - State Shift
- Exploring awareness, whole body listening, interactions and sensations with movement and breath work.
- Duration: 1.01.52 minutes.
Lesson 6 - Flow State
- Establishing a sacred space in your practice and entering into a flow state.
- Duration: 49.06 minutes.
